Artist Statement

My work originated as a way to unpack the role that nature has had on the mythologies of our past, and how these mythologies have impacted our values and superstitions.

My more recent work focuses on the playfulness rooted in the edginess of everyday modern life. Instead of looking at origin stories and β€œman” as a root of being, I have switched to a focus on the role of womanhood and femininity on a both a personal and political level. With a digital focus, I use nature in my work as a reflexion of these femme ideals, and as a mirror of the strength within femininity that often goes overlooked. These themes have also been explored in my jewelry work and printed apparel which I am currently selling through my instagram page @cameo_goth_goods.
